FAQS
-
A miscarriage doula is a trained, non-medical support professional who provides emotional, informational, and practical support before, during, and after pregnancy loss. They walk alongside individuals and families through miscarriage and other forms of pregnancy loss, offering education, validation, advocacy, and grief support without judgment or timelines.
-
No—doula support is not therapy or mental health treatment. While sessions can feel deeply supportive and therapeutic, the role of a miscarriage doula is to offer education, emotional support, validation, and practical tools—not clinical diagnosis or treatment. Most of our clients see us in addition to traditional therapy.
-
Anyone impacted by pregnancy loss is welcome here—regardless of gestation, diagnosis, family structure, fertility journey, gender identity, or past outcomes. Support is available for individuals and couples navigating miscarriage, stillbirth, TFMR, ectopic pregnancy, chemical pregnancy, and more.
-
Each session is guided by your needs. You may share your experience, explore how grief is impacting different areas of your life, ask questions about pregnancy loss, and receive gentle tools and next steps for coping and moving forward—at your own pace.
-
Support groups meet virtually and are small, intimate, and intentionally facilitated. Each week includes a meaningful topic, guided reflection, and space for sharing or listening. You’ll also have access to handouts, prompts, and a private group chat for continued connection.
-
Yes—partners are welcome in individual sessions if that feels supportive to you. Support groups are designed specifically for the person who carried the pregnancy.
-
Currently, miscarriage doula services are not covered by insurance. If you need documentation for HSA/FSA or reimbursement purposes, receipts can be provided upon request.
-
That’s completely okay. You’re welcome to reach out, and together we can talk through what kind of support might feel most helpful right now. You never have to figure this out alone.
